Our goal is to become publically traded (IPO) in a little while, at which point there is even MORE scrutiny on our procedures, SOC 2 compliance, public audits, full disclosures. Seriously, it is a crazy, crazy amount of encrypted data, and your data is a tiny subset hidden in there all encrypted, with encrypted filenames.
Not only that, but each of your encrypted files is split up across 20 different computers in 20 locations in our datacenter for durability reasons. Not only do we encrypt your file contents, we don’t even know your file names! And frankly we don’t want to know, it is nothing but a liability to us.Īnd our datacenters now have very close to an exabyte of data in them, all named with 83 character anonymous hex filenames and the contents are all encrypted. Is there any method I can use to ensure all my files are encrypted before hand or do I have to trust backblaze that they encrypt it for me? We use 2048 bit public/private key encryption, as far as we know it is unbreakable.
